Leading alliances led by Qualcomm to drive progress in software-defined vehicles

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. has announced its participation in two consortia focused on advancing software-defined vehicles (SDVs): the Eclipse Foundation Software Defined Vehicles Working Group and SOAFEE’s Special Interest Group (SIG). The company is committed to creating open standards and interoperable open source software components for a robust SDV platform that serves global automakers and Tier 1 suppliers. The Eclipse SDV Working Group aims to accelerate the vision of SDVs by providing a collaborative environment for the automotive ecosystem to work on open source technologies. The SOAFEE initiative, which includes industry leaders like Arm, AWS, Bosch, and Red Hat, focuses on developing a cloud-native architecture for automotive applications. As the automotive industry increasingly adopts a cloud-native software development model, Qualcomm Technologies plans to work with both consortia to strengthen the automotive ecosystem and develop intelligent cockpits, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and connected services. The goal is to deliver advanced and flexible solutions that will transform the automotive industry.
