Samsung Galaxy S24 Rumors: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Chip and Exynos 2400 Potential

Samsung is rumored to be re-considering its chip strategy for its upcoming Galaxy S24 series. While the S23 models used a custom version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, the S24 series may feature both an in-house chip and a Snapdragon chip, the latter specifically being a special version of the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. Allegedly, the S24 Plus model scored higher than a RedMagic 9 model in Geekbench 6 tests, suggesting the custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 variant is more powerful than its off-the-shelf counterpart. It is unclear which models will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, with one suggestion being that it may be limited to the Ultra and Plus models. Meanwhile, the standard model may be equipped with the supposedly improved Exynos 2400 chip, which has comparable performance to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It remains to be seen how Samsung will balance performance, cost, and market expectations when it comes to the S24 series’ chip selection.
